About

I’m an Educator, Interior Designer, and Moderator, known for being versatile, personable, and highly organized. A native of London, I thrive on bringing people together - whether through lecturing, collaboration, or events.

With an eclectic 30-year career as an Interior Designer, I’ve gained extensive experience creating spaces across all sectors of the built environment. Over the years, I’ve built and nurtured a global network of industry contacts and colleagues, and I currently serve as Design Director for YesColours ®.

I’m also an Associate Lecturer and Super Practice Leader at the Royal College of Art, London, on the MA Interior Design Programme. My teaching extends to other institutions, including Manchester Metropolitan University, Heriot-Watt University, University of the Arts London: Central Saint Martins, Nottingham Trent University, and University of Plymouth, among others.

As a seasoned speaker, host, panellist, and awards judge, I’m regularly invited to participate in leading international design events, including the London Design Festival, Decorex, The DNA Paris Design Conference, Design Week, Workplace Design Show, Clerkenwell Design Week, Surface Design Show, Designerati Awards, MIX Awards, and International Property Awards.

A major career highlight was my four-year tenure as International Director for the British Institute of Interior Design. During this time, I championed British design worldwide, visiting creative communities in Chicago, Delhi, Paris, Valencia, Milan, Tokyo, and more.

I’m a passionate supporter of the arts, serving as a Patron of the Design Museum and holding memberships with the Tate Galleries, Southbank Centre, and V&A Museum. I also actively campaign for social justice, diversity, equality, and design excellence through my mentoring work at Nottingham Trent University and my voluntary involvement with United In Design and the British Institute of Interior Design.

I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Simon throughout the past year as part of the #designyourfuture program, which is tailored for young secondary school students. Simon brings with him a large experience in both design and the education sector. His expertise has significantly enhanced the program, as he generously shares his knowledge and insights with the students.

One aspect of the program that Simon particularly excelled in was providing valuable guidance on navigating the design industry and building a successful career path. He offered practical advice to students on preparing their CVS and portfolios for job applications.
