About
Brands, institutions and event organisers bring me in to shape conversations that are clear, engaging and genuinely worth having. Work that’s has taken me across the UK and internationally for over 30 years. I operate at the intersection of design practice, education and industry, a mix that brings both rigour and real-world relevance to every conversation I shape.
This has meant hosting panels and conferences at platforms including the London Design Festival, Clerkenwell Design Week, Decorex, 3 Days of Design in Copenhagen and the DNA Paris Design Conference.
My background spans design practice, consultancy and professional leadership, including a period as International Director of the British Institute of Interior Design, representing the profession across Europe, Asia and North America.
As Associate Lecturer and Super Practice Leader for the MA Interior Design programme at the Royal College of Art, I've worked closely with students on the transition from study into practice - helping them navigate career direction and find where the opportunities are opening up across industries. It's work that has kept me closely connected to the future of the field.
At the heart of it all, I'm happiest collaborating and connecting people, ideas and opportunities.
TESTIMONIAL
I had the pleasure of meeting Simon regularly across the span of my Interior Design Masters Course at the RCA. He harnesses an impressively vast range of experiences across design management, industry networks, recruitment practices, public speaking and education that significantly boosted my learning experience. There was never a dull moment with Simon because he makes any conversation feel easy and truly pays heed to students needs; and is quick to take action to follow up with reinforcements for a productive academic structure.
Diligent, consistent, responsible and warm are some of the words I would use to describe his presence as a mentor. He awlays showed up with clear communication and would take the extra step to assist students in matters of professional practice, CV / Portfolio refinement, career counselling and an overall incredible passion for personal guidance regarding all sorts of help across academia. He is indeed an all rounded professional and a gem of a person.
